Self care is one of those things we keep thinking we will get around to eventually. When I have more time...
When the kids are older...
When I have more money...
When I'm ready to face the blocks that are holding me back...
Truth is, self care doesn't have to be time consuming, expensive or emotionally difficult.
It can start with just one five minute routine every day.
Something as simple as making a mindful five minutes of quiet and going within instead of spending those five minutes in front of the television. Or getting up only ten minutes earlier to stretch your body before the day begins.... or whatever you know works for you.
The secret is in the consistency. You don't have to create a long and elaborate routine that you know you can't stick to. Start with five minutes a day, you'll be addicted before you know and won't be able to do without it!
